On 11 February 1858, a 14-year-old local girl, Bernadette Soubirous, claimed a beautiful lady appeared to her in the remote Grotto of Massabielle. The lady later identified herself as "the Immaculate Conception" and the faithful believe her to be the Blessed Virgin Mary. The lady appeared 18 times, and by 1859 thousands of pilgrims were visiting Lourdes. Yearly from March to October the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes is a place of mass pilgrimage for pilgrims from all over the world. In addition to the nightly Rosary procession another important activity is the blessing of the sick each afternoon. And, of course, the baths with their reported healing powers. Come visit one of the world's most famous--and popular--shrines. Over 5 million pilgrims come here each year.

Day 1 U.S.A.--Paris
Departure from our home towns today and meet up in Newark for our overnight flight to Paris.
Day 2 Paris---Lourdes
Arrival at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport this morning we will transfer to our flight to the town of Pau. We arrive in Pau and are met by our local guide, board our bus and take the one hour drive to Lourdes. We will check in to our hotel to rest up a bit after our journey. Later we will celebrate Mass and then have dinner at our hotel. Overnight in Lourdes.
Day 3
After breakfast we will be given a guided tour of the important sites of Lourdes, such as the Boly Mill, where St. Bernadette was born, and the “Cachot”, an abandoned prison where the family of St. Bernadette lived in poverty. While in Lourdes you may take the Baths, as well as participate in the Eucharistic Procession in the afternoon, and the Candlelight Procession and Rosary each evening. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.
Day 4 Lourdes
Full day in Lourdes. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.
Day 5 Lourdes
Full day in Lourdes. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.
Day 6 Lourdes--Paris-U.S.A.
Our driver will pick you up at the airport today and take you to the airport in Pau. Here you catch your flight to Paris and then connect on to the flight back to the U.S. You will arrive home the same day.
